Kala’s Dance Academy was founded on 8th April 2010 by Ssonia Deshmukh, a passionate dancer, choreographer, and educator, in honour of her Guru and guiding light, Kalavati Aai. The name Kala’s carries deep emotional and cultural significance — a tribute to the legacy of her Guru, whose teachings and values continue to shape every aspect of the academy’s philosophy.

What began as a small initiative to spread the joy of dance has grown into a thriving institution, known for its commitment to artistic excellence and personal growth. Over the years, Kala’s has trained hundreds of students, building not just dancers, but a strong community connected by rhythm, discipline, and expression.

Ssonia Deshmukh is the founder and director of Kala’s Dance Academy — a passionate dancer, inspiring mentor, and visionary leader who has dedicated her life to nurturing talent and spreading the joy of dance. With over two decades of experience, she has built Kala’s into a trusted name in performance-focused dance education.

The name Kala’s holds deep meaning for Ssonia. It is a tribute to her devotional and spiritual guide, Kalavati Aai, whose wisdom and blessings have been a constant source of strength and clarity throughout her journey. The values of dedication, humility, and purpose that Kala’s Dance Academy stands for are rooted in this guidance.

Ssonia’s professional training began at the prestigious Shiamak’s institute, where she honed her skills in various dance styles and stage performance. Since founding the academy in 2010, Ssonia has choreographed and led countless shows across schools, colleges, corporate platforms, competitions, and wedding events, both in India and overseas. She is widely respected for her ability to blend technique with emotion, and for creating an environment where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired.
